About
SHEHANA
The Women in Aviation Association was named ‘Shehana’ after the ‘female falcon’ that shares the same name in Arabic. Recognised to be the most beautiful and fastest type of falcon among its species, It is characterised by strength, courage, and dignity. Shehana represents the sense of power, wisdom, and pursuit necessary to achieve strategic and tactical goals.
We completely believe that women in general, and Emirati women, have incredible capabilities that enable them to work creatively in the aviation industry and its various specializations, as they have proven themselves in many areas such as science and technology.
OUR FUTURE
In 2017, under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak “Mother of the Nation”, the UAE launched a national strategy to empower and promote Emirati women’s leadership.
Shehana was born as a natural evolution of that aspiration, with the intent to fundamentally impact the women in the aviation industry.
Shehana hopes to create a motivating and inspiring environment for Emirati and women to study and work and pursue opportunities in the aviation industry in UAE.
Shehana is committed to empowering women in the aviation industry through a number of collaborations and partnerships that will open doors and create opportunities to contribute to increased participation and gender balance.
