Terms and Conditions
1. INTRODUCTION
1.1. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your membership into ‘Shehana’.
1.2. ‘Shehana’ is established as an international voluntary association that aims to attract and empower women in the aviation industry, support them to reach leadership positions and represent the industry at international events.
2. TERMS
2.1. By registering as a member with Shehana, you acknowledge and agree to abide by these Terms, and these Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Shehana.
2.2. Shehana may amend these Terms at any time by posting an updated version on the website at shehana.ae. Continued membership, and/or use of the website and services after such amendments have been posted will constitute your express consent to these Terms.
2.3. Nothing in these Terms seeks to hinder or otherwise affect any of your statutory rights.
2.4. These Terms (as amended from time to time in accordance with these Terms) and Privacy Policy, available at shehana.ae/privacy-policy sets out the entire understanding and agreement between you and Shehana with respect to your membership in Shehana.
3. PRIVACY POLICY
Any personal data collected by Shehana will be processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy, available at shehana.ae/privacy-policy. the terms of which are hereby incorporated into, and form part of these Terms.
4. MEMBERSHIP
4.1. You are required to complete the membership application in order to become a member of Shehana. In order to apply for membership, you must be at least 21 years of age, and must provide true, accurate, current and complete information, as requested during the application process.
4.2. By registering as a member of Shehana, you warrant and represent that the information provided by you during the application process are true, accurate, correct and complete, and that you will inform Shehana immediately of any inaccuracies or changes to the information provided.
4.3. If you are making the membership application on behalf of a business or corporate body, you confirm that you have the appropriate power and authority to legally bind the business or corporate body on whose behalf you are registering.
4.4. Membership to Shehana is subject to the approval, and submission of a membership application does not guarantee automatic membership. Shehana reserves the right to review all applications and determine your eligibility for membership to Shehana.
4.5. Membership approval is at the sole discretion of Shehana. The organization reserves the right to accept or reject membership applications based on its own criteria and considerations. The organization’s decision is final and not subject to appeal.
4.6. You recognise and accept that Shehana relies on your representation and warranties, and would not accept your membership to Shehana, except on these representation and warranties. You also recognise and accept that Shehana may suffer losses or damages as a result of your breach of these Terms or other policies imposed on you by Shehana.
4.7. While Shehana exercises discretion in approving memberships, it is committed to non-discrimination and will not reject membership applications on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other protected status.
4.8. Shehana will communicate the approval or rejection of membership applications to applicants in a timely manner. Shehana is not obligated to provide reasons for rejection of an application.
4.9. Applicants whose membership applications are rejected may have the opportunity to reapply at a later date, subject to the organization’s discretion and any guidelines it may establish.
5. MEMBERSHIP FEES
5.1. As a member of Shehana, you undertake to pay an annual membership fee, as determined by Shehana every year, to support the initiatives and activities of Shehana. The membership fee is non-refundable and subject to change with advance notice.
5.2. The annual membership fees can be paid online through the designated payment gateway on the Shehana website.
6. BENEFITS
As a member of Shehana, you may have access to certain benefits, as determined by Shehana at its sole discretion and notified to the members from time-to-time, such as exclusive events, workshops, seminars, and networking opportunities aimed at advancing women in the field of aviation, and may also receive informational updates related to Shehana’s activities.
7. CODE OF CONDUCT
You are expected to conduct yourself professionally, respectfully, and in alignment with the values of Shehana, and any form of discrimination, harassment, or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.
8. TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP
8.1. Shehana reserves the right to terminate or suspend your membership at its sole discretion if you violate these Terms, engages in conduct harmful to Shehana’s reputation, or fail to fulfill membership obligations.
8.2. You may terminate your membership to Shehana at any time by emailing us at fatma@mozahalmaktoum.com.
9. LIABILITY
Shehana is not liable for any loss, injury, or damage incurred by you or third parties in connection with membership activities or events. Participation in events and activities is voluntary and at your own risk.
10. GENERAL TERMS
10.1. Relationship: No provision within these Terms will be deemed to constitute a partnership or agency between you and Shehana. You have no authority to legally bind Shehana in any manner whatsoever.
10.2. Severability: If any provision of these Terms is held by a court in a competent jurisdiction to be unenforceable, illegal or invalid, and can be deleted without altering the essence of these Terms, such provision will be severed and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
10.3. No Waiver: Any failure by Shehana to enforce any rights or obligations set out in these Terms or other policies with you is not a waiver of Shehana’s rights to enforce those rights or obligation.
11. GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, as applicable in the Emirate of Dubai. Any dispute regarding these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts in Dubai.
